Quarantine is a decent horror movie; well actually I would consider this movie a thriller rather than a horror. It has its tricks like all camera view movies. It kept you interested at the last hour, but the first 30 minutes did seem a bit slow.
There really weren’t a lot of big names in this movie, but the main ones were Jennifer Carpenter who played Angela Videl, a news reporter following the firemen. Steve Harris who plays Angela’s camera man, who is also filming the movie. Also, Jay Hernandez plays one of the firemen following Angela around.
The camera view is very much like Cloverfield, Diary of the Dead, and any other movies that have a first person view. In Quarantine, the camera was not shaky or disorientating, it felt real and natural. This movie is not your normal “zombie” movie. Quarantine does have some twist and turns that no other movie has done. (Well, none I can remember.) Quarantine will make you jump out of your seat a couple of times, but also if you are a gore fan you will like some of the scenes. One more thing you might get annoyed at is Jennifer Carpenter towards the end because all she does is scream for like 15 minutes straight.
Quarantine is a great movie and is an enjoyable movie. I do wish there was more gore, but hey what can I say? All in all, Quarantine is a watcher and I recommend you seeing it in theaters, because the next horror movie (or thriller movie) is Saw V.
All my viewers out there I still have Bangkok Dangerous, Burn After Reading, Lakeview Terrence, My Best Friend’s Girl, How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, and Righteous Kill to review…college sucks!
